Simply Business: Geometric Business Card Templates

A New Line of Business Cards that Highlight Client Information

Simply Business stands out from other business card designs with its focus on geometric shapes and clean lines. The main goal of this project is to create a new line of business cards that prioritize the client's information. By utilizing geometric aesthetics, the designs achieve a visually appealing yet simple and readable format.

The templates in the Simply Business collection are created using digital vector design and incorporate printing techniques. Andrea Kis started the project by sketching and designing around twenty different templates, eventually selecting the best eight for the final collection. The cards are printed on 350 g/m2 paper, ensuring a high-quality and durable product.

These business card templates adhere to the European standard size, measuring approximately 9 centimeters in height and 5 centimeters in width. The designs are available in two color variations: black with white letters and the inverse. The lightweight paper used for printing ensures that the cards are easy to carry and distribute.

Simply Business offers a range of designs suitable for various business types and owners with different personalities and niches. The templates provide a simple yet visually appealing way to display the client's information. The geometric elements and clean layout contribute to a professional and modern look.

The Simply Business project started in September 2014 and underwent several months of testing and refinement before its completion in December 2017. Andrea Kis gathered feedback from small-business owners and made necessary modifications to ensure the designs met their needs. Ongoing modifications and new variations are currently being developed.

During the design process, Andrea Kis conducted research by exploring creative business card websites and examining collections of stationary items. Interviews with clients and small-business owners provided valuable insights into their preferences for professional yet simple designs. The final templates incorporate harmonious lettering based on DIN fonts, ensuring readability and visual appeal.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was finding the right balance between readability, clarity, and creativity. The incorporation of simple geometric elements while maintaining an appealing design required experimentation and refinement. Despite the lack of similar projects during the research phase, Simply Business successfully combines geometric aesthetics with functionality.

The project has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category in 2018. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
